just a quick thought...or...hypocrisy, its whats for dinner.

So, i realize i haven't been on here in awhile...but i've been busy so deal with it.

I probably wouldn't even have posted today, but i was reading this news link off of somewhere that was talking about how Rosie O'Donnell is upset that the American Idol judges are so harsh.  The quote in the article from O'Donnell was...

"That's compassion for you," O'Donnell said. "Isn't that what America thinks is entertainment, to make fun of someone's physical appearance?"

This is the second time that Rosie has come off as a complete hypocrit in the past couple months...in my opinion.

1. She gets upset at Kelly Ripa for her allegedly homophobic comment to Clay Aiken...who by the way has never said he was gay. Not one week later, she does her little "Ching-Chong" immitation of a Chinese newscaster...but that was all in good fun.  Racism is funny...homophobia, not so much.

2. Now, she is upset because the judges of American Idol make fun of people's physical appearance.  So, again, ok to make fun of the way people talk (and also made facial expressions while fake-speaking Chinese), but not to make fun of the way they look and sing.

Does this make sense to anyone? Does anyone else think Rosie needs to get off her high horse..which evidently is not so high?

In addition, don't u think people realize when they go on American Idol that there is the possibility that they will get made fun of and possibly humilated on national television...even if you do think you're a good singer? I mean it is only the 7th season of the show (or whatever).

Sorry if this is incoherent...just felt like typing that out.

it just occured to me...or...kissing can be devilishly funny

today i noticed something.

the typed sound effect for kiss ("muah"), is the same as the beginning of the typed sound effect for an evil laugh ("muahahahaha").

strange.

dream a little dream for me...or...the beeping won't stop

last night/early this morning I was dreaming about I don't remember what, when suddenly there was this constant beeping  (still in the dream).  It was one of those intense dreams where it seems like you're actually awake, you know what i mean.  Anyways, suddenly all the non-descript characters in the dream  began scrambling to find the source of the beeping and finally found  it in this small battery pack with a blinking red light.  In the dream it wasn't a bomb about to go off or anything, but the whole next sequence of the dream was dedicated to stopping the beeps.  First,  we tried to smother it...which did work.  Then we decided that we had to throw it into the ocean or some body of water.  So we were running over buildings and across the city to throw it into the water.  Along the way there are some trips and falls, but finally we make it  to the water and I throw the battery pack into the water.  I hear the splash and yet the beep doesn't stop.

It is at this point that I wake up.  It is moments later when I realize that the beeping is not just in my dream but is actually my roommates alarm and it is 6:38 AM.  Apparently she had already left and the alarm was not going to be turned off.  I thought maybe i could just ignore it...but considering that it had seeped into my dreams, I am thinking probably not.  So i get up and go turn it off.

I think this story was more amusing in my head.

luck is not a skill...or...Asian American Super Squad!!!

Last night, I had a soccer game with the lesser of my two teams.  While I was subbed out, I was noticing the comments of my fellow teammates with regard to  the play of our players on the field.  Granted, they could just be trying  be positive in their shouted encouragements as players run by, but more troubling was their side comments to each other out of ear shot of any player on the pitch.  Comments like, "Nolan is really playing well tonight." or "Wow, Nate is really working it."

Now, I am not trying to debase these players or anything, but lets just call a spade, a spade.  These two players, as most players on the team, make good plays because they are lucky, not necessarily skilled.  This is not to say that they are skilless, or that everything they do on the field is due to luck...but when it is skill, you should call it skill..when it is luck, you should call it luck.  Thats all I am saying.  I would hope that when people say things about my playing they realize the difference between when I am lucky...and when I am skilled.  Which both tend to happen.

So, for about a month now, I have been wanting to create an Asian American all-star soccer team to play in one of these leagues.  Whenever we play against teams, I am very conscious of how good the other APA players are...because if they are good, I might want to pick them up for my all-star team.  Last night there were two Asian American male players...one was good...one was not...but I think that if I were to ask one of them, I would have to ask both as I think they are a package deal.  I am also in search of another girl.  I have one (my sister), but need at least 2.

I think it would be cool and we could call ourselves something like Yellow Peril or Justice League of America.  But for now, its all just a pipe dream as I will probably be leaving San Francisco too soon before a new league starts up.  Oh well, it was a nice thought.

going the distance...or...stamina is sexy

so I think this friend of a friend is hot.  actually she was the first girl in sf that i found attractive...even during the whole east coast strangeness.  but at any rate, i was talking to my friend about her and she was telling me how said girl runs marathons without training for them.  in her first marathon she didn't train at all, rolled out of bed and ran the whole thing in less than 5 hours.  i am not sure why...but i think that makes her hotter.
